Paragraph Writing: Topic 1

The implementation of 2013 curriculum should be supported by other education supporting elements. The two supporting elements that have a prominent role are society and media. Those elements cannot be separated from the implementation of the curriculum. The society, at least, should have two roles in the process of 2013 curriculum implementation. First, they can directly participate in planning, monitoring, and evaluating the curriculum. It can only be done especially when they take a part in the school committee. Second, they can also indirectly participate in the implementation of 2013 curriculum by showing good cooperation with the school in which their children study. Because some of the learning activities in the 2013 curriculum actually require the students to learn at home, so, a good cooperation can be done by assisting, monitoring, and guiding their children in the learning process at home. Another supporting element is media because it can affect children’s character development. As it is known, the 2013 curriculum derives from the issues on character education. In order to support the implementation of 2013 curriculum, media can establish good value and characters which are addressed through various products such as film, stories, songs, etc. In conclusion, the demand of quality education today cannot be fulfilled by merely implementing 2013 curriculum. It also needs support from other education supporting elements.
